Three reports from September 2026 on one question: what happens when a member of the public reports a solicitor and the SRA decides not to investigate. The SRA closes 8,317 reports a year with no further action, nobody can require it to look again, and asked what it had checked before closing one, it replied 'we did not seek further evidence'. On the 30th of September we served the SRA with a letter before claim for judicial review.
Eleven reports from January to August 2026 on the routes a person without a lawyer has to rely on: the courts' own files, the review sites people use to choose a solicitor, the regulator's handling of concerns, and what the Legal Ombudsman publishes and then removes. Our audit of two years of court files found 92 per cent with missing or unprocessed documents, and was published by the Justice Committee as written evidence.
